A quirk of nature as brought up to believe by her peers, Bucha's egg was misplaced during the time of when humans still had something of a hold on the world around them. In the hands of team Magma (and a rather incompetent rookie on the team itself), her egg had found its way outside of the confines of their headquarters and was ultimately found by that of a band of Bachelor Ursaring males. Instead of devouring the precious, quick-growing life form within the confines of its shell, they'd decided to allow it as a tag along until the day it hatched.
Being a Pokemon afflicted with Shinism, Bucha was immediately dubbed that of a blessed soul - A Pokemon expected for great things and a great destiny by the good graces of their god - "A great silver bird whom lived in the sea" as he was told as a much younger cub.
A biological or psychological quirk, or perhaps too much time spent around males, Bucha does not identify with females nor being one in the least. Brought up in a band of males whom believed that only the strongest of Pokemon could be considered "true males", he was brought up as that of a stoic and proud boy, and was taught the essentials of what they believed to be of the utmost importance for such a small lad.
It was some time before the humans had finally been pushed back into the depths of their extinct volcanic paradise that Bucha's Bachelor band seemed to disperse and disappear. As to why is still a mystery, though. Not wanting to let down his "fathers", he's lived off of his own work and has been able to scrap together a life for himself, albeit how short it still has been.
Other notes:
— Bucha holds a strong disdain for being referred to as female or "She" and/or "Her". He considers himself too much of a man to put himself at the birthgiver level.
He is particularly fond of Apicot berries and Aspears. Sour berries are his utmost favorites and he will actively seek them out on a day-to-day basis to both partake and stash them away in various hard-to-reach hiding spots.
He has a particular fondness for Honey. As a biological quirk to add to the already stunning Shinism he bears, when enough Honey is consumed, it seems to have a psychoactive effect on him, and he will frequently search out Combees to trade for their irresistible, sticky sweet goods... Or take it for himself whilst the occupants of their nests are away. As such, he is often, if not always, seen in a state of calm euphoria due to his high intake of Honey.
